History

In 1962 a group of idealistic law students from University College Dublin decided that a law journal which would provide law students with a forum in which their ideas on different legal subjects could be heard would be of real benefit to the law student. This journal was entitled "Justice". Although in Universities overseas, particularly in American Universites, the law journal had already become an important part of University life, it was the first law journal of its kind in Ireland. Unfortunately its publication ceased after four editions. It wasn't until 1991 when the students in the King's Inns recognised the continuing need for such a publication that the Review was revived under the name of The Irish Student Law Review which was edited and produced by students of the King's Inns. Since this revival, the Review has gone from strength to strength.

This website was launched by the Honourable Mr. Justice Adrian Hardiman of the Irish Supreme Court on 21 February 2002. It provides access to past volumes of the Irish Student Law Review which were previously difficult to locate.
